Family Christmas EP!

Happy holidays everyone!

First of all, let me extend my sincerest congratulations to my brother, David Claytor, and my future sister-in-law, Morgan Slavens, for deciding to tie the knot!! We here at michaelclaytorandhisfriends.com are all very proud of you and looking forward to the union of two large, cultish families.

In that same vein, every year my family has sent out a Christmas card. It always amounts to a recent photo of us, 5 fake smiles (and 1 real smile from my mother), and at least 2 siblings in desperate need of a hair/beard cut. This year, though, we’ve decided to better use our talents and create a family Christmas EP!

We’ve recorded three tracks, including a medley of 3 Christmas favorites. The flagship track, “Winter Wonderland,” features vocal solos by Jackson and Gracie Quello (10 and 8 years old, respectively), and mandolin work by Andrew Claytor. “Here Comes Santa Claus” boasts an original, irreverent verse composed by David Claytor, and the “Medley O’ Favorites” finds Merrill Frailey showing off her rhythm guitar skills!

Of course, the NEWLY ENGAGED design super-couple at Hatchet Design is responsible for the show-stealing cover artwork. It’s way better than any Christmas card photo we’ve ever taken!

Happy Holidays!

Brewster Baker Reunion- Take two

If you’ve read the title then you already know. Brewster Baker will indeed be playing a second reunion show on Tuesday, December 21st at Common Grounds in Gainesville, Fl.

This time, though, there’s a twist. In addition to the show (other bands TBA), we will be holding a Chili Cookoff. You can view more details and RSVP here. Here’s a video of Brewster Baker, in case you needed a muse for your BB-themed chili.

Prepare to lose.

Flac-u-mentary (Belated, overdue, etc.)

Hey everyone. I’m well aware that this is very belated.
Back in July, we held the final Flaco’s Wednesday after two and a half years and upwards of 100 shows. Frequent Flaco’s guest, musician and friend, Eric Atria, spent that night filming the night and interviewing the regulars so that he could give us this very special documentary. I can’t believe I didn’t post about it earlier. He did a magnificent job.

I’ve also posted these videos on our Media page, and there they shall forever remain.

In unrelated news, David Claytor (left) has been named the 4 Rivers BBQ trivia champion! If you know him, the title is much deserved. So congratulations David! I’m sure we’ll all be darkening your doorway someday soon for a taste of that sweet sweet holiday gift basket.

Well gang, that’s it for now. But I’m probably going to do another post right after this.

Solidarity forever- It means just as much now as it did back then,

Michael
