ABOUT US:

Michael Claytor and His Friends skillfully blend Folk, Americana, and Bluegrass into a satisfying combination of sounds and textures sprinkled with the melancholic themes of travel and searching for greater meaning in life. The band has become one of the most popular staples in the Gainesville music community with their Wednesday night residency in the back room of Flaco’s Cuban Bakery. Each week, the room swells with an ever expanding fan base that comes to sing along, dance, and make merry as they watch a rotating cast of local musicians join the Friends on the tiny backroom stage. With “We have an Elephant,” the band has successfully captured that vibe in a medium that can be shared with the world outside of Gainesville.
